Event: https://www.facebook.com/events/2452743958388812/

They will also let the audience know how they can get involved.

Drake is the Development Director for the Truckee River Watershed Council. Prior to working on protecting the Truckee River, Drake worked in ski resort management at Northstar California and as an environmental consultant and biologist focused on water quality and wildlife protection in the western states. RSVP: https://www.facebook.com/events/2540179779437333

Tahoe Silicon Mountain, a local network of entrepreneurs and professionals is pleased to have Nick Polinko present at the October 12th, virtual Mountain Minds Monday via livestream, using the Tahoe Silicon Mountain YouTube Channel to present on DIY Vanlife: Why you should or shouldn’t build your own camper van.

Over the last 10 years, the Vanlife Movement has gained significant popularity with outdoor enthusiasts seeking more off-the-grid and remote experiences. The biggest question when embarking on this lifestyle is whether or not to build your own rig. Polinko and his partner spent 18 months on the road traveling from San Francisco to Patagonia. After seeing a variety of approaches, they returned to custom build a 2019 Ford Transit Quigley 4x4. Polinko will break down the reasons to build your own van vs. buying a manufactured RV, and will discuss the different ways to tackle it on your own. At the end of this presentation, the viewer will have a good idea of the path they should take to get into the world of Vanlife.

Polinko is a mechanical engineer, the former CEO of Rumpl, an outdoor blanket brand, and now the COO of Tahoe Modern, a staging and design firm based out of Truckee. September 14: Impact Pricing & Value-Based Pricing Strategies

RSVP: https://www.facebook.com/events/453186642255694/

Tahoe Silicon Mountain, a local network of entrepreneurs and professionals is pleased to have Dr. Mark Stiving present on Value Pricing. Stiving will present at the September 14th, virtual Mountain Minds Monday via livestream using the Tahoe Silicon Mountain YouTube Channel and will be discussing the question: “Am I pricing my product or service correctly?”

Stiving discusses impact pricing, the importance of pricing, and will educate us on how to price products to gain the optimum value for a company. Most companies can increase profits immensely by better understanding and implementing value-based pricing, but historically, this is a huge market problem. Stiving is passionate about pricing and education, and will discuss how to properly price a subscription service, which will help to educate the audience on how to see value and price appropriately.
Stiving is the Chief Pricing Educator at Impact Pricing LLC where he educates companies on pricing. The goal of this business is to find ways to help small businesses use pricing to capture more of the value they create. Prior to Impact Pricing, Stiving worked as a speaker and author, an instructor at Pragmatic Marketing, Director of Pricing at Maxim, and Pricing Expert at National Semiconductor. Stiving has a PhD. from UC Berkeley, Hass School of Business, an MBA from Santa Clara University, and a BS in Electrical Engineering from The Ohio State University.

July 13: Minds at Work: How to Keep EVERYONE From “Flipping Their Lid”

Tahoe Silicon Mountain
, a local network of entrepreneurs and professionals, is pleased to host Marcia Ramstrom, who will present on Minds at Work: How to De-escalate Conflict and Keep EVERYONE From “Flipping Their Lid”, during the July 13th virtual Mountain Minds Monday via live stream using the Tahoe Silicon Mountain YouTube Channel.

Ramstrom will speak on how to cope with emotions during these tough times. Working under the current strained conditions created by dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic can put even the calmest person at risk of losing it. Understanding the brain under pressure and learning how to calm down the stress response system can help you and those you are working with, regulate the nervous system and remain calm. Knowing when it is beyond your ability to support yourself or others and where to turn for help can be life-saving. The presentation will explain the science behind our stress response system, and how to use nervous systems' relaxation mechanism to manage stress and other emotions.

During this pandemic, it is critical that you recognize what stress looks like, take steps to build your resilience, manage job stress, and know where to go if you need help. Whether you are going into work or working from home, the COVID-19 pandemic has probably changed the way you work. Fear and anxiety about this new disease and other strong emotions can be overwhelming, and workplace stress can lead to burnout, or worse. How you cope with these emotions and stress can affect your well-being, the well-being of the people you care about, your workplace, and your community

Ramstrom has been an educator and mental health clinician for over 30 years. She loves sharing information and resources helping community members increase their mental health literacy and make their lives easier and more enjoyable!
